It did not take long for students of the occult to realize that the altars, shrines, and relics of the Buried Temple were placed in symmetrical shapes. The calculated placement of those places of power suggested there was a greater purpose for the entire Temple. Many thought it was a seal, others a message, and just a few realized that it was a portal.

So they began to come into contact with otherworldly entities, to worship them, to invite them through the membrane that separates universes. At first, there were only small incomplete manifestations that crawled out of the ether. Then, unspeakable and much more terrible horrors answered the prayers of the Cultists.
